Authoritative Synchronization
One Calendar for Every Player
The Golden Calendar is synchronized from the game's authoritative backend whenever a player logs in. Once synchronized, the client advances time locally using a high-precision monotonic timer for the duration of the session. This ensures every player experiences the same shared timeline while avoiding unnecessary network traffic.
The calendar advances continuously for the whole world. Every player shares the same date, environmental season, and history rather than maintaining a separate personal timeline.
The Golden Calendar never pauses. Even while you are offline, the world's history continues to advance for everyone. When you return, you rejoin the same living timeline shared by the entire community.
Growing Older
Generations Move Forward
Every character ages naturally. Children become adults, adults become elders, and new generations inherit the achievements and obligations of those who came before them.
Assuming a character survives war, disease, accidents, execution, and other dangers, the average natural lifespan is approximately 80 years. Since one real-life week equals one Golden Calendar year, that is about 80 real-life weeks.
